i bought an old Mark Twain cuddy 27' 3 yrs ago, redid interior vinyl. motor hasn't started in about 4 yrs., i replaced points, condenser, plugs, fuel filter, oil & filter. i just finally replaced ground cable and was able to get it to crank, but it does it very slowly and no spark. I'm mainly concerned with the slow turning of motor.
what can or should i do to get it to turn more freely?

Pul lplugs load cyl with marvel mystery oil or fogging oil let soak a day or two.try cranking with plugs out should spin faster if not chk starter could sizing up if spins better take comp rest chk spark with plugs out most of the cure the could be getting used up by starter .good luck ps chk starter cable too

I don't see where you bought a new battery. While you may be able to get a battery that has been idle for 4 years to take a charge, it will never perform well.

FWIW.... I only ever buy used older boats. I never address appearance issues until it runs 100%.
