Tested compression, replaced plugs multiple times, taken the bowl off both carbs and checked them everything was clean as a whistle. Timing is good and checked for vacuum leaks. Will run fine on the top end but as soon as you back off to put in nuetral it sputters and dies.

Is it flooding itself? Do you smell strong gas smell at Idle? Or does it sound like it's running out of gas ?

Seems running out of gas. My butterflies were not opening in sync so I straightened that out and replaced my fuel lines including the bulb and filter so I will have to test it and get back to you

What's the idle rpm's set at?
Should be 750-800 in gear in the water.

Does it do it if the covers off?

When the cover is off it seems to be a little better not great and when it wants to idle it idles around 750-800 in gear but it only wants to idle normal on the trailer and trimmed up in the water..

Where are the air screws set at?
Set air screws at 1 1/2 turn out.
Then adjust from there.

In the water.

Between the carbs, there's a black equalizer tube, pinch this off.

Then running, in gear, turn the top screw in 1/8th a turn.
Wait 10 seconds and then repeat.
Do this until the motor bucks, kicks, stalls?
Then back out 1/2 turn.
Repeat on the second carb.

When that's done set the rpm's at 800 or as close as you can get.
Don't go over 800

How did you test for vacuum leaks?
Starting fluid.
Start motor, spray SF around the intake side of the motor.
If any change in the way it runs? = sucking air.

Take carbs off and clean the slow speed passages.
