Water Pressure Gauge Installation

Hello all,

I’m installing a new water pressure gauge on my 98 Mercury Outboard 150xl 2 stroke carb. I’ve installed the gauge and have ran the tube to the powerhead, but I’m not exactly clear on where it attaches to the block. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. I’ll upload some photos in a few.

I’ve read somewhere that I need to T off from a hose on top of the block that’s located behind the flywheel. Not sure if that’s correct though.

Some tee off the tell tale hose. Newer engines have a grey hose that runs at the back if the engine around the coils or plugs. It's capped.

Do not "tee off the tell tale hose".... That will not tell you block pressure. By the exhaust adapter plate below the ignition coils is where your fitting is going to be attached. Pull the coil plate off, it may already have a capped hose.
