    Default dpc1 and kadd44

    perhaps better posted in diesel forum.however i was contemplating pulling my vp 5.0 fuel injected out and transplanting
    my recently rebuilt kad44.
    my boat is a 22ft cobalt.these were available with a 7.4liter gas witch weighed about a 150lbs less than the kad.so weight wont be a problem.
    drive ratio may be a problem.currently has a dpc1 1.95 in it.would proping up to c7's take car of difference in gear ratio.

    Brett, rarely (it at all) are we able to "prop" ourselves out of an incorrect final drive reduction.
    I would find out which reduction was used behind the KAD44, and go with that, and then prop accordingly!
