So newbie boat owner here. Purchased a 87 bayliner Capri with the 3.0 liter omc 4 cyl motor. The previous owner could not get it started for me. Just clicking like a dead battery. Has tag that it was winderized in Oct 2017.
Well I stated by replacing battery. Starter was shot. Replaced. Pulled plugs dropped a few drops of oil into cylinders and cranked over. Installed new accel super coil even though stock coil was good. Replaced cap and rotor and removed points for a hei conversion kit. New plugs too. Rebuilt carb today. Compression test shows 100 in 2,3,4 and 92 in 1. I have 5 volts at the coil with key on. I have jumped the battery to the coil to assist with starting with no luck. Lowered the trim from full up to half way.
Drained all the old fuel and replaced with 10 gallons of non ethanol fuel. New plugs.
Am I missing something?
