Intermittent output from water telltale at low RPM. Normal?

Hello,

I stored my Nissan NFS5A for 3+ years. I just installed the water pump rebuild kit, replacing everything but the pump case liner which was in perfect condition. I fired it up and the telltale water stream was intermittent at idle. It is constant at higher RPMs. I'm pretty sure I reassembled everything correctly, but this was the first time I've done this repair. It's also been several years since I used the engine and don't recall if this happened or not. Is intermittent output at idle normal behavior?

A bit odd, but probably OK. Make sure the motor is deep enough in the water, and verify that the pee hole is clear.
