1967 20 hp Johnson won’t start

Motor is new to me but started first pull till the plastic key in the throttle linkage broke, ordered the OEM part here and easy installation. Set the throttle gears to align with the handle markings and verified travel range of the throttle ring. Motor has, good , gas at carburetor and mist out of both cylinders. Also good spark at both cylinders. I suspect it is a timing issue but it should still try to fire...help please
 
I would remove the flywheel for a look at the coils.----Timing is NOT the issue if the spark will jump a gap of 5/16" , does it do that , yes or no?

Is the shaft that the flywheel mounted of right hand or left handed, I looked but cannot tell, thanks
