Hydraulic shift assist 1979 800

Does anyone have any tricks to remove the shift assist cylinder?
I had it out, put it back in. It did not seat properly and now it is stuck.

That is assembled together with the propshaft.------That is taken out and assembled as a pair.

Yes but the assist cylinder has to be removed before the prop shaft can come out

I think you remove them together !!!-----Both at the same time , yes.----I have done this type of work.

Agreed they both have to come apart simultaneously, but they seem to be stuck
