1988 25hp Lower Casing Cap

Hey all,

Trying to get my grandmothers pontoon going and she has a 88 25hp ELG. I am trying to find a Lower casing cap. The official part number is 6L2-45361-00-EK but they don't make it anymore. I was wondering if anyone knew how much the part actually changed because all I can find is 6L2-45361-03-8D in stock anywhere. Or do you have any aftermarket options for me.

If you google search the part number any distributer carrying the part will also list the superseded part number. Then order accordingly. Otherwise, my go to for yam parts is boats.net. Call and ask for superseded part#
 
That's the rough part there is no superceded part numbers out there. I can only go by pictures of the parts.

Judging by the pictures it MIGHT work but dunno
 
Poor record keeping on Yamaha's part.

6L2-45361 is the base number.

-00-EK were the original dash numbers. Last two are for the colour code.

It is normal for a -00 to be replaced by a -01. -01 R/B -02. -02 R/B -03.

4D is the latest colour code or finish code. But who cares.

Might give it a try then. They are $75 and if it doesn't fit I can always do a return I guess.

I appreciate it and so does my grandma.
