Neutral issue

This is a follow up on a previous post i made a little while back
.
Issue- when the boat is in the water and i shift from forward back into neutral it makes a fast grinding sound. No sound in forward or reverse. Only when i put it in neutral in or out of the water. Runs fine in neutral when i start the boat but the second it goes froward back into neutral it grinds.

What ive noticed- once i pull a tube and put some tension on the boat it shifts into neutral fine without a grinding sound even hours after not running the boat. I take it out of the lake and go the very next day and the grinding sound is back until i pull a tube.

Anyone know whats causing this?

Assuming this is an Alpha One, there's an interrupter switch that kills the ignition for a split second when shifting into and out of gear. If that switch is nonfunctional all kinds of weird things can happen. Why you seem to feel it doesn't happen when tubing could be more your imagination than anything.
