Hi Guys,

I have a 1989 mariner 150. When the boat get up over 3000 Rpm the charging output starts to spike up to over 16+ volts on the onboard meter.
The rectifier had just been replaced as it had some a lose connection and some arcing issues that melted one of the connection posts. The engine seems to run well but sounds a little higher pitched. Engine idles fine and starts well.

Any suggestions to look into would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all.

Mark.

Could the switch box cause the over voltage to the Rectifier thus causing it to malfunction? The last one was melted down on one lug and was arcing. I am going to look deeper into the rectifier to see what it looks like after a recent run.
