im looking for any helpful info such as year, what spark plugs it uses, what gas mixture to use or any tips you may have!

so far i have tested compression (110psi) and tried to test spark but had no success, which brings me to the main reason i am asking for help, I don't know which spark plugs to buy!

Canadian Serial indicating a latter half of 1972 production date.

For on-line part look up a US serial (production number) of 3263263 will give you "mechanically" the same motor (you don't often see Canuck serials listed in the on-line parts lists).

Surprisingly there is still many parts still available for this motor. However, if you have a significant ignition issue causing lack of spark you could spend upwards of 500 bucks (coils, condensor ect) and have a motor worth 100 bucks when you are all done.

A Seloc's manual (#1404) 1965-89 1&2 cylinder Mercury Outboards might be quite helpful.

Awesome! great help! seems as though the kill switch was faulty and was causing intermittent spark issues, i have it running now, just need to put the gearbox assembly back together and get it in the water!
