" Sparky the points are new, when you say rotor you mean the rotor button or (cap) right? I'm afraid you lost me on the vent housing can you explain it to me, I'm a novice with outboard terms. When you say test your refering to an ohm meter correct "

" Venthousing is the name given in the parts book. Could be called a distributor cap. A good shop can test it with a mercatronic test unit. No spark on 2 cylinders , sure makes a set of points supect. "
