I replaced the impeller on my 1988 Gamefisher 9.9 hp Model # 225.581990. The water is now exiting thru the exhaust port at rear of engine. There is also a stream of water exitting the left side of the motor (looking from rear of motor) thru a hole in the upper gear housing.

1. Does this seam correct?
I never notoced this stream of water before. I guess it was below the water line.
I would like to go to the lake today but am worried this may not be correct. The water exiting via the exhaust is not very hot. I can keep my hand under it.

2. Does this engine have a thermostat?

Thank you in advance,
