Boat Starts right up and pers like a kitten. Will idle around the lake just fine but when I get it going, it dies after about 20 seconds, I can keep it going if it back off the throttle. It then starts right up. It will also come out of the shoot strong for 10 - 15 seconds and sounds great. Here are the details of what we have tried so far:
1. This is a brand new crate motor with less than 8 hours on it
2. Used an auxillary gas tank to see if it was getting gas
3. Replaced Carb with rebuilt identical carburator (hlolly 4160 marine)
Marina mechanic is at a loss as well. Any ideas? I am not a mechanic by any means but willing to give my mechanic ideas.
Could it be the timing is not advancing? It seems like it is running out of gas but I would think that 2 rebuilt carbs would do the same thing.
