Crusader 270hp carberated engine. Recommended oil

Taking a survey. I boat in Maryland and use mercruiser straight 40 weight oil. What are other people using in there engines in md and out side of md. What is recommended for small block 270hp engines. Thanks mike

15w-50 mobil 1 full synthetic in the BBCs

If an older flat tappet engine the oil should contain ZDDP to protect the camshaft lobes.

and there is plenty of zinc in the M1 full synthetics....

Shell Rotella 15w40 plus one bottle of Lucas Zinc additive if standard hydraulic lifter engine.
