Hey Guys,

New here but I just gained ownership of a small boat with a 50hp Johnson outboard that will be my new project. I work on fishing boats but my mechanic skills are somewhat limited. First step I need to I’d this motor. The serial number tag is faded but I any help would be appreciated.
 
Sorry guys I’ve tried a few different times to post pictures and I can’t seem to get them to upload here. I’ve read the sticky on it over a couple times. I have a serial number from the freeze plug and I believe it’s a late 90s model. SN/ G4210373.
