Default Crusader 270hp Divorce choke Thermastate

Had to replace my divorced choke thermastate on my Rochester quadrajet. I am having problems with it working properly. Are you suppose to adjust these or are they good to go out of the box. After running boat for awhile I try to restart engine and I cant due to chock keeping butterfly closed. Need help
    Thanks Mike

they usually need to be adjusted.

make sure the 'can' (or housing) is not binding up the assembly - the butterfly should move over its full arc with modest finger pressure...

They can be adjusted by bending the rod that connects them to the choke linkage.
