You're better off calling CDI & explaining what you have & they will steer you into what you need. why do you want to switch over?I need to replace the ESA on my 1989 OMC. I see the only one available is this CDI unit.

Is it compatible with electronic ignition? I am considering upgrading to electronic ignition.
That's why i kept mine.My ESA is not working, and I have been thinking of switching to electronic ignition to do away with points. But then again, points are simple and very rarley fail. I just have to adjust them a couple of times a year.
