Impeller question

1986 Mercury inline 6 115 hp

I've never done an impeller job. I've watched a YouTube video and Got additional tips on the MasterTech site.

1. How do I determine if I need a kit or just an impeller?

2. Should I always replace the gasket?

You might need the parts in the kit. The housing is plastic and can melt/ distort if the motor was run out of the water.
