Trim tilt use reduces engine RPM?

On my 2004 115hp Optimax, while cruising, if I use the tilt trim the engine rpms decrease then recover when tilt trim is not engaged. Up and down seems to have same effect.
Any suggestions for a new member appreciated!
 
Thanks for the suggestions on this and my later speedo question. Replaced the old worn wire connectors at the battery and that seemed to eliminate the problem while cruising. It also fixed my horn which hadn’t been working well!
