Break in oil

If its a markIV block, the high zinc oils would be of benefit...or you can buy a bottle of zinc additive....

I'd suggest you check with the rebuilder for their recommendation(s) as they know what went into the block....they should also provide a break in procedure...
 
Shell Rotella 15 W40 was recccomeneded by michgan motorz when I got a new long block, change after 10 hours. It has zinc in it , which is reccomened for flat tappet cams
