502 efi VST system

I have a 95 502efi motor and would like to remove the VST system and replace with a better system. I am not sure what the best route to go is, if anyone could help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Define "better" The VST is there to eliminate vapor lock. The pump they use is a pretty good one. How do you think it can be improved?
 
You can remove the VST tank, they are problematic due to heat.

Get a Gen two fuel cooler along with the fuel filter lines feed and return and the high pressure line to the fuel rail, Mercruiser makes a plug for the return line on your fuel rail.

I have done this conversion. If you can find a blown up L29 7.4 all the parts are there minus the plug for your rail.
