Evenrude 25hp. What year? What spark plugs? What should I check?

Just got a 25hp Evenrude. sn. E0002001 Model # E25RLCSA. I think its from 1980 but not sure? Also wonder what the correct spark plug is? Rebuilding carb, new impeller, new fuel pump, fuel lines. have to check thermostat. Should I check anything else? I'm new to outboards. Also shifter seems to hard to push into and out of gear. Will check again after I change water pump and gear fluid.

Type model number into the parts section and you can find plug info as well as all other parts needed..I use L77jc4/Ql77jc4.Does it not run well?Plenty of info on line to check year.I just picked up one of those in short shaft version,E25Rcsa was the model 1980.Not near as nice as yours.Is the shifter hard while running or not running.I really do not think it is highly recommended trying to shift these will not running.
