Repair - Service Manuals

I am still searching for a repair or service manual for my 1997 5.7L TBI closed cooling Crusader Engines with no luck. Apparently they made the TBI's for only a few years. It's been suggested I use Mercruiser manuals but although they have the same block the bolt on parts are different. I've tried
emailing Crusader (Pleasure Craft Engine Group) but they do not reply.

I'm curious as to why "closed cooling" is called "fresh water cooling"?

Thanks

You may want to check with Anfrew & Co, our host...800 number is at the top of the page. They used to sell the Crusader factory manuals but stopped advertising them a while back....maybe they have the one you need 'left over'. If not, your local dealer should be able to order them for you...

You described the the situation with the Mercruiser manual pretty well....at least its a partial solution.

Some will say you asked the question 'backwards' on the cooling system nomenclature. I'm convinced its a by-product of how most of us were taught....either 'label', having a heat exchanger for the engine's cooling load is the preferred solution for most applications.
