1989 Force 50 lower unit

So I bought a lower unit seal kit for a Force 50 hp. I replaced all the seals and o- rings. But for the life of me i can't figure out where the orange o- ring goes. Please help! I believe I've attached a photo of the o-ring

No where.
The kit fits a few dozen different lowers.
The making of a kit for every motor would be a nightmare for the parts people.
