I recently purchased a 4 Winns with a volvo penta 4.3 GL charcoal. Took it out for the first time and the temperature gauge never got to 100 degrees. I have since replaced the thermostat and did some testing on the temperature sending unit and it was a little loose. The boat never was hot to touch so it was running cool. I want to all the preventative maintenance to it that I can. My question is does this motor have an impeller anywhere on it that should be replaced. All I can find is a circulation pump and a water pump.

The short answer is YES.
Depending on which GL you have (need more of the 4.3 GL model number), you will have either a belt driven seawater pump or a crankshaft seawater pump.
In either event, the seawater pump impeller will be inside of the pump.
And yes, these must be either removed for the lay-up period, or examined and/or replaced at the beginning of the new season.

With your full GL model number, you can look up the seawater pump on this website.
