WOT Mercruiser 3.0 problems (with video)

1. Change (if you haven't yet) the fuel filter

2. Put a temporary fuel pressure gage near the carb. Should stay above 5 psig at WOT.

Need a lot more information....

Video sucks...........

You should video with sound at the engine not the dash!

What rpm are you at when issue occurs?

What is the engine temp?

Need more...........

The “misfires” occure when i’m above about 4300rpm. Engine ran for about an hour, so engine temp would be around 90c. The video was only so you van hear the misfires. Could it be a valve not beeing set correct.

Ayuh,..... More than likely crud in the fuel system, as noted above,.....

Fuel demand is highest at Wot,......

Problem solved. It was the ignition. Changed the cap and rotor, new plugs and wires.

Changed the spitfire 4 blad from 17p to a 19p and the boat runs Good. A 10 minute WOT run and no hesitation. Top spead 42 Miles at 4800 rpm. Maybe i’ll get a spare 21p prop for a better top speed.

I'd stick with the 19p. 4800 rpm is a good wot for that motor and going higher pitch will just lose acceleration without gaining much of anything on top.
