how to cowl removal 1978 35 hp mercury

I am thinking the latch is not working to get the cowl off the motor.

Is there a trick to removing it if the latch is hanging up the removal of the cowl?

thanks very new to all this
 
LMAO i figured it out underneath the grip for the pull cord is a little plastic button if you press that down real hard the silver plate lossens up and come off exposing two latches that hold the middle wrap around section of the cowl. unhook those and the center section of the cowl lossens up and it can be removed.
thats crazy
