Replacing elbows

I have an '06 bayliner with 4.3 mpi raw water cooled dry joint exhaust. It was bought new in '09 used in fresh water for 5 years then salt water for 5 years. Never been apart. I was getting paranoid reading all these stories about elbows rusting out. Today I took elbow off and it looks to be in near perfect condition, minor surface rust. Very surprised. Mind you it really is only used 3 months of the year and flushed everytime it comes out but it has been moored in saltwater for a month each year with no flushing. Even the gaskets are not stuck on and the orange silicone mating surfaces of gasket are in perfect condition, going to re-use them.
