Re-attaching Engine Undercover Rim Seal (Honda 225)

I had a little newbie incident changing my oil ... engine was tilted down when I removed oil-filter, and it dumped a bunch of oil which leaked out of the undercover case. When cleaning it up - I ended up removing the rubber seal that fits in the yellow highlighted area. It came off very easily due to the oil, however it's not going back on very well. I thought it would just be a push-fit, but doesn't seem to be. Did the original part have some kind of adhesive attaching it to the painted metal? It looks in good shape, other than it isn't staying put :)

If I recall correctly, it should just push in place. However, if it doesn't, then clean the rim and rubber seal with alcohol to get any oil residue off, and use a light adhesive to hold it in place. No harm doing that.

Note that the seal is pretty important to prevent water incursion in and around the lower part of the engine.
