AQ130C water pump cover/gasket installation

The water pump on an AQ130C has a very thin gasket between the pump cover and the pump body that needs replacing every time you replace the impeller or remove the cover. The pump cover is the secured to the pump body by 8 small screws. As my finger and hands get less nimble as I get older, I am finding it very difficult to secure the cover while making sure the gasket is in it's proper position. What can I use to hold the gasket against the cover or pump body before I install the cover? Or is there a better method? What are those thin gaskets made out of?

Believe it or not, you can make your own gasket out of a thick brown paper bag. Put some oil on the paper as to prevent it from deteriorating.

Or, use an OEM gasket and adhere it to the cover!

Temporarily use two long ( 1"+) screws on the top two holes to align everything. Then push cover and gasket back to the housing and install short screws, then replace long screws with proper ones.
