repairing front deck soft spot.about a 2.5ft by 5ft cut out top skin using vib tool worked great.cleaned out old core balsa. I have done a lot of rough fiberglass work, motor mounts stuff like that. watching all the stuff on youtube I am assuming I should seal the bottom sheet.and seal the bottom core.let dry then mix a thicker mix put core in and weigh down a bit?sound right? I am using west system 206 slow hardener.thanks for any help

West has their epoxy guide on their www site.

Assuming you have a 'pocket', I'd seal the core edges that are visible and then bond the new core in. If its really 10 sq ft, I'd be inclined to vacuum bag it. If not, you will need to apply a weight uniformly over the new core. Then bond the old skin and fix the joint. I'd think the only 'tricky' part is not putting too much epoxy in to bond the core - too much and the skin will be too high.
