replaced the tilt and trim switch on my throttle. now no power

I cracked and broke my tilt and trim switch last summer. I had to stick something in the broken switch to make the motor go up and down. I ordered a new switch for my quicksilver commander 2000 and installed it. now there is no power to the motor. I checked the wires and cant figure out what happened. purchased a new battery because that one was giving me trouble last year but still nothing. tilt and trim doesn't budge and trying to start it does nothing.

no trim switch on the motor. upon further investigation I connected the blue to green and vise versa. terminals were same color but had a stripe. found a blown fuse in the motor probably because of the switched wires. will replace tonight and see what happens.
 
replaced the fuse and the power is back, the engine turns over and the up trim works, the down trim, does nothing. I took out the switch and tested resistance on both up and down and they are the same when pressed. I don't know where to look next
