1996 9.9 HP Gamefisher fuel pump not working

Hi, I have 1996 9.9 HP Gamefisher that I've gotten started, but the fuel pump doesn't seem to be working. I've just replaced the gaskets and diaphram. Would anyone have any suggestions regarding what I should try next?

IF?? the rebuilds done right??
Then the hose or hose connections might be bad?
What the compression on the motor? Low comp can affect the pump.

The pump: are the diaphragm and valves in right and the valves not bent?
Filter not full?
 
Thank You so much for responding and for the suggestions! I've checked the hose / hose connections, they seem fine...I haven't measured the compression, but the compression seems to be high/good. I've also rechecked the diaphragm and that looks fine, I'll check the valves later today.
