Question about replacing trim motor on 88 Mariner 175

Hello all,

My trim motor is out.
I can hook the motor leads straight to the battery side of the starter solenoid, and it makes no noise or does anything at all. I have verified voltage and ground. I have ohmed out the motor leads and they are both shorted to ground.
I have a replacement on the way, but my manual photos are very fuzzy for whatever reason on this job.
As I understand it, I need to loosen the steering cable running thru the tilt tube, then remove the nut on the engine bracket. After removing the three bolts on the side of the trim tilt unit, that should allow the engine bracket to be removed, and gain access to the trim motor.
Does that sound correct, or am I missing some steps?
