Hi All,
I just got done changing the impeller on my DT40C, and after putting it all back together (which was a pain, as the large nut that connects the shift shaft ends came undone from the top thread) my situation is as follows:
I'm turning the prop by hand, don't want to risk trying it under power yet.
In forward gear, the prop "jams" when turned one way, but spins freely with some clicks the other.
In neutral, the prop spins freely in both directions.
In reverse gear, the prop "jams" in both directions.
Is this normal and correct? I've seen conflicting information as to whether the prop should spin in one direction when in reverse, or not at all like I'm seeing.
Obviously there is some adjustment in the shift shaft nut, and as it fell off, I may not have adjusted it correctly when reassembling.
Cheers,
Andy
