Opti Max power trim problem

Trimmed motor up to attach travel brace. Trimmed down to tighten on cowling switch & it would not stop. Continues running & cowling or throttle switch won't stop it. Had to disconnect battery. Any help?

Or the batteries were hooked up backwards and the wires were melted together.

Thanks. Battery hook up was fine. Had a problem before where cowling switch didn't work but others did. Replaced that & it worked fine. This was different. Thought it might be a stuck relay. Guess it's best to replace both of them.
