I purchased a new Evinrude 50-hp 4-stroke outboard for my C-Dory and it was installed by the same outboard marine shop. When I first started it, I would hear the loud piercing whistle alarm when I first started the engine for a few seconds. I noticed that this alarm no longer sounds on startup and am concerned. After reading several articles on this site, I couldn't find a post that was similar to the problem I'm experiencing. Does anyone have an idea or remedy for this? Anything I can check or should I just bite the bullet and take it into the shop and have them throw a gun on me for the labor charge?
