AQ170 overheating

I am a complete newby here and to boating as well. I bought a Coronet Oceanfarer 32', it has twin AQ170's. One works perfectly OK the other runs good but overheats. When I originally bought the boat, the engine that overheats had water in the oil so I put a new head gasket on it and run it up several times and the oil stays clean. I get water running from the tell tale pipe on the transom until the engine reaches working temperature and the thermostat opens and then there is no water coming thru the tell tale and it overheats. The boat was on freshwater when I bought it and is now on seawater. Can anyone throw any light on why it seems to be OK until the thermostat opens.

Have you replaced the water neck fittings and special beaded gaskets?
Hi, many thanks, no I haven't done that, is the water neck the sharp elbow from the exhaust manifold down to the outdrive and where are the special beaded gaskets located?. I hope I don't sound too much of an amateur. Thanks.

Water Neck fitting (a wear item that requires routine replacement)

There is a special "beaded" gasket underneath this part. Bead faces down!

This part will corrode and if so, will breach suction.

Be sure to heat the suspension fork some before attempting to remove the two screws.

(Map or Propane torch....... NO Oxy/Acet! )
