2000-ish 75hp Force run-away idle ???

Starts fine. idles for a few seconds then ramps up. Not really sure how else to explain it.
It's in neutral; the prop isn't spinning. and it just starts to ramp up and would probably explode if i didn't kill the motor.

I've ordered and received a new ignition switch (but not sure how to wire it). The one i have now is old and the spring doesn't work, so the starter will stay engaged if i don't manually click it back one. Also, there is only two wires connected to the old ignition (although it has three leads) and the replacement (which has a push to choke action) has six wires coming out of the back.

Any help would be great.

The 6 pole, most outboards have a similar one.
The 3 pole sounds wrong??
3 pole switches are usually used when the ignition is a car motor.

The return spring, might just need a shot of WD-40 sprayed in the hole.
Spray and activate(unhook the battery) repeat until the key returns by itself.

They didn't make a Force motor after 1999.

The revving up after start.
Could be the float level?
Pics of the ignition and the ignition system on the motor?
