Hey all just need some advice. My 2002 mariner having some shifting issues really clunky and stiff and sometimes stalls when going in to reverse. Would it be cable or some form of adjustment to smooth it all back up. Cheers all
 
Your opinion / ideas may differ.------I would remove cables at the motor and see if it is a control box issue.-----Next I would remove the lower unit, and see if linkages / bushings on the motor could be the issue.----Or the lower unit is the issue.-----Salty environment can jam bushings with corrosion products.
