Converting to closed cooling

I was looking to purchase and ship a boat from Michigan to WashingtonState.
It seems most have an open cooling system, being lake boats.
Since I’m in salt, I would consider converting to closedcooling.
I know there are conversion kits but wanted to ask if thereare any concerns about doing that?

The issue is existing rust scale that may come loose and build up around the heat exchanger’s inner tube bundle.
You can make this work if you routinely remove the heat exchanger and flush out the E/G side of the tube bundle. Dump the contents into a clean white bucket and look for rust scale debris.
I would suggest doing it at 10 hours and perhaps again at 30 hours after installation..... then maybe again at 50 hours.
At 50 hours you’ll have a good idea as to how much scale is coming loose.... it may dimenish to a minimal level.
