Hello,
I have been given a mercury outboard motor. SN: 0B163412 . I am desperately trying to figure out just what I have on my hands. There are no additional markings on the cowling since the paint has worn down. I typed that serial number in the "search parts by serial number and it comes up as:Mercury / Mariner (6 / 8 HP 9.9 / 15 HP) Engine Components
This still doesn't tell me what I have. 6? 8? 9.9? 15?
I found the number WMC17 3266 on the carb but I dont see that part number specifically on the Parts diagram for the carbs. Other numbers are mentioned for the 6,8 and 9.9 hp.
Any guidance on this would be appreciated! This is my first go at a boat motor. I want to get this thing running, it needs some work!
