Is there a difference between EFI and Optimax?

I seem to be seeing mixed information between parts manuals and other info on the internet.

I have a 2006 150XL EFI

I see some places referring to this an Otpimax but when I did a serial number lookup on a part site it just said EFI.

Is it ? I want to get the Mercury manual and hoping to identify the correct engine.

EFI.....Electronic fuel injection. You fuel injection replaces the carburetors on the front of your engine. EFI outboards are no more fuel efficient than a carbed outboard.

Optimax/DFI....Direct fuel injection....The fuel injectors along with direct injectors are on the back side of the engine directly on the cylinder head. Optimax engines have an belt driven air compressor. If you do not have an air compressor you do not have an Optimax.
