Ignition beeping

The ignition was beeping until motor started and just recently the motor will not stay running unless I keep the key in the engine start position. I've read bad ignition and also bad kill switch and then some oil sensor. I have twin 5.0 mercs on my 30 maxum. I just went on a 6 hour trip and the boat ran fine but then next time out this happened. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

not much to go on ,could be the ign switch, no power to the purple wire under the dash, or a bad ballast resistor (points ign only)

Thats what I was thinking since the previous owner did say he only put one new switch in before selling it. Could it be a bad kill switch as well?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Fixin' boats is done by Diagnosin' the problem,.... Then fixin' the problem,......

Just throwin' new parts at it,..... Ain't the way to go,......

With a test light,... Check the key switch,.....
With a test light,... Check the lanyard switch,....
With a test light, or meter,.... Check the oil pressure switch,......

Good luck,...... with yer symptoms, I'd start Testin', at the key switch,......
