BF130 Fuel Reg Testing

Hi, is it possible to test a fuel regulator?

I recently found that the HP side had no pressure when I changed the fuel strainer and as a starting point want to
check it.

The part is 1640-ZW5-003, is it used in an other applications ?

Cheers

The vacuum opens and closes it if there is no vacuum the spring inside closes [ in other words the spring is not compressed ] no fuel should come through .

There is only one way to check a fuel pressure reg. Connect a fuel pressure gauge, start the engine and allow it to idle. Fuel pressure at idle with vacuum hose connected should be just short of 40 psi, then disconnect the vacuum hose and pressure should increase 5 psi, if it does this then your regulator is working properly.

Hi, thanks for your replies.

I removed the Idle Valve and cleaned it with and carb cleaner. I then ran the solenoid on the bench a thousand times and re-installed....rough idle fixed.

I borrowed a fuel gauge and the regulator is fine.

Thanks for your help.
