please how do I increase the power in my 5B h p tohatsu 2 stroke ., if I change the prop and the size and pitch ,only I like more power ,speed is find thenks
 
In order for you to get the most from any outboard, your WOT RPM must be in range. The 5B needs to run 4500 to 5500. Over 5000 is best. Get a tach on the motor, and see what your WOT RPM is now, then if needed, change props. About 1" may change your RPM about 300 RPM.
 
The stock props for the 5B are 7, 8, and 9 pitch. The motors shipped with an 8 pitch.
There is also some newer props available, including the 6 pitch elephant ear prop (high thrust), and a regular 6-pitch prop.
 
So. Put a tachometer on, and see what the current WOT RPM is. If too slow, decrease pitch; if over-revving, increase pitch.
