Check for a leaky fuel pump.
Do you disconnect the fuel line each and every night?
You could be flooding through the carb, or fuel could get into the crankcase through a blown diaphragm in the pump.
 
can you give me a quote for a new fuel pump?
I have never disconnected the fuel line every night. Is this a peculiarity of this motor?

All motors of all kinds should always be run dry at the end of the day unless running tomorrow. All 4-strokes of all brands should always have the fuel line disconnected at the motor (you would do that to run it dry anyway) to keep the primer from cycling like a pump and flooding the motor or blowing the fuel pump.
