40hp evinrude identification

Thinking of buying a 40hp Evinrude,model number-BE40EI.
Serial number-1004348.
I can't seem to find a similar Identification,some have just numbers at the start (40) and in my case (BE40)
From what I can understand,BE is Begium/Evinrude,--the 40 is 40HP,--and the EI is electric start.From the figures,it's a 1991.(it has a through the prop exhaust.)
Can anyone help me out?I'll need the correct I.D. to order parts etc.
Any opinions on this model will be gratefully received.
 
Hi K,
The plate is hard to read,I'm looking at the plate on a photo advert.
Its definately got a starter motor,which I think rules out the BE40REI
I'll get the seller to read it and send the number and get back to you

Serial number-1004348
From what I can gather,it's a 1984,with electric start.
If it's longshaft,it's too long for my boat.(14ft Broome Gemini speedboat)(UK)
